Why you need next Generation OSS ?
Well this is the time to think about the need of next generation OSS in your network. Thinks are getting changed the monopoly of the vendor in any network operator is broken into different vendor for different network elements. The complexity of interoperability and monitoring method is increasing. There is no standard one screen management tool for the multi vendor network implementation.
This is where SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), MIB (Management Information Base), OIDs (Object Identifiers) are coming into the play. SNMP is a protocol which is used to collect MIBs from the network elements. Each vendor will have the specific MIBs for different devices. So the next generation of OSS is vendor agnostic.
Apart from the vendor's own network management system operators are looking for third party multi-vendor Network Management System to have better understanding of their network performance.
